Image resize and conversion

Resize and convert an image locally

Fit a single-frame PNG, JPEG or WebP inside a chosen box, preserve its aspect ratio, or explicitly stretch to exact dimensions. Inspect source geometry first, then download a complete image, report and recipe.

Separate private workspace. Keep originals and read the color, transparency and resource limits below.

Choose size and format

Fit preserves the full correctly oriented image without cropping; whole-pixel rounding can slightly change its ratio. Exact dimensions may stretch it. Enlargement is off unless explicitly allowed. Choose PNG, JPEG or a browser-supported WebP encoder. JPEG/WebP quality is an encoder parameter, not a measured quality score. An output can be larger than its source.

Color, metadata and transparency

Conversion re-encodes pixels and removes source metadata, including ICC profiles. Browser decoding, alpha premultiplication, interpolation and 8-bit screen output can change colors and hidden transparent RGB values. Exact samples, print fidelity and source profile preservation are not guaranteed. JPEG requires an explicit opaque-background acknowledgement when transparency may be present. Color-conversion acknowledgement is required for every conversion. Use the separate structural metadata workflow when pixel-payload preservation is the objective.

Supported profile and cancellation

Single-frame PNG, JPEG and WebP only. Up to 50 MiB source and complete output, 32 megapixels decoded source/output and 16,384 pixels per output axis, subject to the smaller 256 MiB logical whole-action budget. This can refuse sources below individual maxima. No crop, rotation, animation, multipage, batch conversion or print-output claim is made here.

One original 30-second action covers acquisition, production and verification; source reads are capped at 10 seconds. Downloads use temporary links. Source/settings changes, Cancel, Clear and switching tools withdraw stale output. Cancellation before a worker terminal reply leaves cleanup unconfirmed and blocks replacement until reload; a termination API return does not prove native codec drain or physical erasure. Downloaded files remain on your device.

Inputs and results stay in the private browser workspace. These bounded operations do not complete the broader image tool or the WebUT product. Keep originals and check complete downloads.
